Because of the pandemic, the Royal Canadian Legion is asking people to not attend the Remembrance Day ceremony in person this year, but there are three ways to watch from the comfort of your own home.
To remember those who fought for our country, wear a poppy and tune in online or on your TV on Wednesday, November 11:
Note: With these three ways to view the ceremony and with the current public health orders in place, the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 43) asks that the general public DOES NOT attend the Cenotaph in person from 10:00am to 11:30am. Please tune in to watch online or on your TV from home.
Starting at 11:00am, take two minutes of silence by standing at the end of your driveway, on your balcony, or in your doorway. Post your pictures on social media and share with others using the hashtag #WeWillRememberThem.
If you would like to commemorate our fallen heroes, you can place a wreath or poppy at the Cenotaph in front of City Hall between 11:30am to 1:30pm on Nov. 11. Please practice physical distancing and wear a mask at the Cenotaph.
