On Sunday, May 6, the 2018 the Investors Group Walk for Alzheimer’s will take place in over 20 communities across the province, including the inaugural Walk in Cranbrook.
Since 2003 in British Columbians have raised more than $6.5 million through this event to help support people living with dementia and their families.
Each Walk in British Columbia is dedicated to an honouree – a person who has lived with dementia or who has valuably contributed to the lives of people affected by the disease.
When you walk, you make memories matter. You honour people who have passed and acknowledge the work that must be done to ensure help and hope to the estimated 70,000 British Columbians living with the disease today.
By attending or volunteering at an Investors Group Walk for Alzheimer’s event you are joining a community of courage that will change the face of the disease, build support and ultimately usher in a world without dementia.
Funds raised will go towards local support and learning opportunities for people living with dementia and their families, and enable research into the causes and cure.
